The bomb suit, the memorial and the covenant

Timothy spent his career in Marine Corps explosive ordnance disposal, a community of fewer than three hundred and fifty people at any one time. He was standing close enough to a blast in Iraq in 2006 to carry it with him. This is the work that comes out of that: the suit, the ordnance, the saint and the names. The dogs in flight goggles and flak jackets are in Portraits and Companions, where the dog is the subject.

The archive

Eighty-three of one hundred and forty-two

Timothy has painted more than the site can show. Work moves out of the studio, into collections and into commissions, and the archive is still being photographed. If you are looking for a piece you saw somewhere else, ask — it probably still exists.
