Biography

Timothy Colomer is a Houston-area artist, United States Marine Corps veteran, and founder of Little Dog Art Studios. His paintings and drawings explore the stories people carry: service, loss, companionship, identity, and the moments that change a life.

A former Explosive Ordnance Disposal technician, Timothy survived a blast in Iraq in 2006. Art became a way to express experiences that were difficult to put into words. That search for expression continues to shape his work, from military and veteran subjects to pet portraits, figurative studies, and paintings rooted in personal memory.

Working in watercolor, oil, graphite, and charcoal, he brings close attention to the character of each subject. A beloved dog, a familiar gesture, or a figure caught in a moment of reflection can become the starting point for a larger story. His work makes room for tenderness, humor, discomfort, and the resilience people find in themselves and one another.

Through Little Dog Art Studios, Timothy shares that work with collectors and creates personal commissions shaped by conversation. His connections to veteran communities and animal rescue remain part of his life and artistic practice. Whether a piece carries someone else’s story or begins with his own, the purpose is connection: to create something people can recognize, feel, and live with.

Work with him

Most of it starts with a conversation

Commissions are shaped by talking first — about the person, the animal, or the moment the piece is for. That is the part that makes it worth hanging.
